MCC Music Department concert Tuesday

The McCook Community College Music Department, under the direction of Glenda Baker, will perform their Christmas concert Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Weeth Theater while the departmental recital is set for Sunday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. in the Weeth Theater.

The Christmas concert will feature the MCC singers -- with both traditional pieces like "Sleigh Ride," "Jolly Ol' St. Nicholas," and "We Wish You A Mery Christmas" to contemporary pieces like Jim Brickman's "Coming Home For Christmas." MCC vocal and instrumental students are also on the program with solos and group ensembles.

Vocal soloists will include Megan Gerk, Holyoke, Colo.; Sarah Cleveland, Stratton, Nathan McCarty, McCook and LaTisha Hunt, Palisade.

Instrumental soloists include Rebecca Gordine, McCook and Emily Leising, Arapahoe. Other singers include: Alexis Marks, Indianola; Magan Dolan, Indianola, Ashlee Huffman, McCook and Aspen Young, Wauneta.

Applied music students will present a student recital Sunday at 4 p.m. Featured students include: Megan Gerk, Sarah Cleveland, Nathan McCarty, Logan Hoyt, Rebecca Gordine and Emily Leising.
