SELDEN, Kan. -- Aldea F. Finnesy, 76, died Wednesday (Nov. 26, 2008) at Sheridan County LTCU in Hoxie, Kan.
She was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Plainville, Kan., to Joe H. and Marjorie (True) Schrandt. She grew up in Plainville and attended school there. The family moved to Stratton, Colo., and later to Selden, where she attended Selden Schools graduating in 1949.
On Sept. 5, 1950, she married Matt Finnesy in Plainville. They lived in Natoma, Kan., for five years before moving to Selden. She worked as a homemaker.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Henry and daughter, Virginia Smith in 2002.
Survivors include her husband, Matt Finnesy of Selden; sons, Dan and wife, Cindy of Halstead, Kan., Mike and wife, Susan of McCook, John and wife, Susan of Bennett, Colo., and Steve of Spring Hill, Fla.; daughters, Marjorie and husband, Gary Byrd of Independence, Mo., and Colleen and husband, Jeff Barry of Marquette, Kan.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden with the Rev. Henry Saw Lone officiating. Interment will be in the Selden Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 p.m., vigil services will follow at 7 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden and Monday from 8 a.m., until time of services at the church.
Memorials may be given to Diabetes Association or donor's choice.
