OBERLIN -- Lloyd Wishon, 94, died Sunday (Nov. 16, 2008) at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
He was born June 11, 1914, in Marion to Jacob and Elsie Elaine (Nothnagle) Wishon. He grew up on a farm in northern Decatur County. He attended Sherman District No. 104
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He returned to Oberlin where he married Patricia "Pat" Peters on July 3, 1968. He was worked as an electrician.
He was a member of the Oberlin American Legion Post No. 70.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat on April 19, 1992; siblings. Charlie, Henry and Clarence Wishon and Mary Ventling.
Survivors include his son, Jon Wishon and wife, Ana of Oberlin; brother-in-law, Jon Peters and wife, Carol of Damascus, Ore.; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Stan Chapin officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 p.m., and Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Oberlin American Legion Post No. 70 and Cedar Living Center.
