HAMLET -- Pearl Myers, 99, died Wednesday (Nov. 12, 2008) at Imperial Manor Nursing Home.
She was born May 16, 1909, to Clerance and Ottie (Perkins) Grahm south of Hamlet. She received her education at Hamlet and was in the first class to graduated from Hamlet High School.
She married Clyde Baker. They later divorced.
In 1937, she married James Warren "Ben" Myers. They lived on their own farm until 1944. Her husband then worked for area farmers until 1954, when they moved to Wauneta. She worked in the Plainsman Care and the Nursing Home. While working at the nursing home, she took classes to become certified to administer medication.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clerance and Ottie; husband, Ben Myers; two sons, Bill Baker and Wesley Myers; two sisters; one brother; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Weston and husband, Mark of Mitchell and Alvina Breese and husband, Dallis of Wauneta; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., (MT) at Hamlet Union Church with the Rev. Marshall Erickson officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in rural Hamlet.
Memorials may be given to the Imperial Manor Nursing Home or the church.
