OBERLIN -- Wynn Horney, 82, died Tuesday (Nov. 4, 2008) at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
He was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Brewster, Kan., to Harland and Margaret (Brown) Horney. He grew up in Brewster and attended school in Brewster, Colby, Oakley and Toledo, Ohio.
He married Mary Johnson. She preceded him in death.
On Nov. 3, 1965, he married Mary O'Toole in Kansas City, Mo. They lived in Albany, Mo., Colorado Springs and Denver, Colo., before moving to Oberlin 1990. He was employed as a L.P. Gas Dealer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harland and Margret Horney; first wife, Mary (Johnson) Horney; daughter, Sheryl Horney; and brother, Dick Kepple.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (O'Toole) Horney of Oberlin; son, Richard Horney of Arizona; sister, Joyce Miller of Denver, Colo.; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be Friday, 11:30 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Henry Saw Lone officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Shriners Burn Center.
