NORTON, Kan. -- Naomi M. (McClelland) Richard, 83, formerly of Beaver City, died Thursday (Oct. 30, 2008) at Norton.

She was born Oct. 30, 1925, at St. Francis to Homer and Ethal (May) Wolbach. She grew up in St. Francis and attended St. Francis schools. Following graduation she worked in the St. Francis area until her marriage to Clifford McClelland on May 17, 1953, in St. Francis.

They moved to Norton, where she worked at several restaurants. She later worked for Norton State Hospital where she retired in the mid 1980's. Her husband died March 18, 1988. She then married John G. Richard on Aug. 3, 1992, at Norton. They lived in Beaver City. He died Oct. 4, 1997. She remained in Beaver City for a couple years before moving to Norton in 1999, where she resided until her death. She attended the Christian Church in Norton and later attended the Church of God in Norton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Clifford and John; two sisters, Alberta and Irene; four brothers, Frank, Delbert, John and Orgyle; and two step-sons, Alfred and Ray.

Survivors include her two sons, Leon McClelland and special friend, Jo White of Salina, Kan., and Doyle McClelland of Salina; daughter, Shauna and husband, Merle Robison of Norton; sister, Phyllis and husband, Walt Grossnickel of Manhattan, Kan.; two step-sons, Floyd Richard and wife, Joy of Anza, Calif., and Ted Richard and wife, Shelia of Hesperia, Calif.; three step-daughters, Ruth Stalder of Beaver City, Evelyn and husband, Bob Hagemeier of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Alice and husband, Don Knigge of Edmond, Kan,; step-daughter-in-law, Rosalie Richard of Gillette, Wyo.; six grandchildren; 28 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 88 step-great-grandchildren; and 48 step-great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m., at Church of God in Norton with the Rev. Terry Worthington officiating. Burial will follow at Norton Cemetery.

Viewing and visitation will be Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and at the church prior to the services on Monday.
