Laura Johnson and Andrew Nielsen
Laura Jean Johnson of Saginaw, Minn., and Andrew Michael Nielsen of Blaine, Minn., formerly of McCook announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

Parents of the couple are Marvin and Martha Johnson of Saginaw and Dr. Michael and Linda Nielsen of McCook.

Grandparents of the prospective bridegroom are Richard and Dorothy Nielsen of McCook and Clara Hector of Humboldt.

The bride-to-be graduated from Proctor High School in Proctor, Minn., in 1998 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Saint Cloud State University in Saint Cloud, Minn., in 2004. She was working as the Lead Materials and Process Test Laboratory Technician at Cirrus Design Corp. in Duluth, Minn.

The prospective bridegroom graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1996, and received his associate's degree from McCook Community College in 1998. He then earned his bachelor of aerospace degree in commercial Aviation from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D., in 2001. He has also earned his flight instructor and instrument instructor certificates, and his commercial single engine and multi-engine ratings. He is working as a freight pilot for Pro Air Cargo and Consulting and is based at the Anoka County Airport in Blaine.

A Nov. 1, 2008, ceremony is planned at Peace in Christ Lutheran Church in Duluth. After the wedding the couple will live in Blaine, Minn.
