OBERLIN -- Jennie Mae Guy, 91, died Friday (Oct. 17, 2008) at Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.

She was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Trego County, Kan., to Samuel and Lela (Brown) Coleman. She grew up in Trego County and attended school in WaKeeney, graduating in 1935.

On March 8, 1938, she married Ralph Guy in Clayton, Kan. They lived in Clayton, Hutchinson, Benton, Kan., and Oberlin. She worked as a nurse aide.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Guy; son-in-law, Bill Fleischer; brothers, Earl, Everett, Clarence and Otis Coleman; and sister, Edna Tow.

Survivors include her son, John and wife, Patty Guy of Kearney; daughters, Sheryl and husband, Evan Unger of Oberlin, Karen Fleischer of Ozawkie, Kan., and Margaret and husband, Chuck Cunningham of Duncan, Okla.; sister-in-law, Opal Rowland of WaKeeney; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Baseler officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 a.m., until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name.
