Offenders arrested in Oklahoma

BEAVER COUNTY, Okla. -- Two offenders who walked away from the Nebraska Department of Corrections Work Ethic Camp on Sunday night were reportedly captured today in Beaver County, Okla.

At about 8:20 p.m., Sunday night, offenders Peter Payton and Charles Meister were discovered missing, according to a press release from the Work Ethic Camp. Local law enforcement and the Nebraska State Patrol were notified and the facility was secured with an emergency count conducted.

Both 19, they were sentenced to complete the 180-day Work Ethic Camp program as a condition of their probation for an attempted burglary conviction in Cheyenne County.

This morning, authorities were looking for a 2005 Chevrolet pickup which may have been stolen by the pair.
