Darlene Ellen Lusk went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at Community Hospital in McCook.

She was born May 1, 1917, in Stratton, Neb., to Floyd Edward and Edna (Thomas) Cobb.

She married Roy F. Lusk in Stratton on Dec. 24, 1937. To this union three children were born, Larry, Janet and Kenneth.

Darlene led a full and joyous 91 years. She and Roy enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States in their fifth wheel trailer. They were members of several camper clubs.

Her many talents included knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking. She was an avid oil and china painter. Her favorite pastime was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

They brought her great joy and she loved sharing stories of her past with them.

Darlene was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Jesus lived through her and it showed with the life that she led. Romans 8: 38-39

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Roy on Jan. 14, 1982, three brothers Lyle, Paul and Bob Cobb and an infant sister.

Survivors include children, Janet and Gene Mahon, Larry and Ann Lusk and Kenneth and Dee Lusk; grandchildren, Tonya and Rich Placzek, Tami and Kevin Darling, Quentin and Jeanne Lusk, Brian and Judy Lusk, Chad Lusk, Laura and Alan Paul, Tyann and Kirk Nansel, Nicole and Jeff Witthuhn, Kimber Mahon and David Mahon; great-grandchildren, Tyra and Scott Barger, Talia Placzek, Taryn Placzek, Talon Darling, Tristan Darling, Troy, Jenna, Megan and Blake Lusk, Lydia and Derra Lusk, Justin and Jenifer Lusk, Sarah and Michael Paul, Courtine, Makenzie, and Turner Nansel, Atayla, Keeley, Atlynn, Kalynn, and Keegan Witthuhn; great-great-grandsons, Kyson Scott and Kreighton Drew Barger; and one brother, Burel and wife, Mary Cobb.

Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
