The sun shone and a gentle breeze blew -- the weather gods were good to McCook for the community's annual Heritage Days celebrations.

"We had a wonderful four days," said Pam Harsh, director of the McCook Area Chamber of Commerce. "The crowds were great. And of course, awesome weather helps."

New activities -- like "Deal or No Deal" -- were huge hits, Harsh said.

Vendors in the park, she said, were very impressed with the community and its cleanliness, and are looking forward to coming back again next year.

Winners of the Heritage Days parade are:

Heritage days was fun the parade was very good. I was disappointed that there wasnt the crowd at the parade as there normally is.. As for the park it has seemed to die down over the years I can remember the whole park use to be full of vendors. Now its about half the park. You need to make it so vendors want to come. Maybe bringing a small carnival or things for the little kids would be something to look into. The food booths were very good.
