Bison golfers 6th at Ogallala

OGALLALA -- The McCook High School girls golf team placed sixth out of 13 teams Monday at the Ogallala Invitational with a 420 score.

The tournament was played at the West Wind Golf Club.

The top 10 players earned medals.

McCook's top player was Alex Trew, who fired a 97. Sydney Jumps fired a 101, followed by Megan Rokusek 108, Becky Goodenberger 114, Shelby Allen 116 and Cori O'Dea 127.

Scottsbluff won the team title with a 351 score, followed by Sidney 371, Gering 373, Lexington 404, Perkins County 413, McCook 420, North Platte 421, Ogallala 424, Cozad 452, Hershey 468, Alliance 488, Ogallala's junior varsity 524 and Dundy County-Stratton 591.

Sidney's Mackenzie O'Connell rolled to first-place individual medalist honors with a 75. Scottsbluff's Kaylee Koeppen and Alex Schluter finished second and third with 84s.

Scottsbluff's Emilee Pilkington shot 87, followed by North Platte's Mackenzie Deutschman, 88; Sidney's Courtney Fletcher, 89; Lexington's Kelsey Ondrak, 90; Gering's Mariah Busch, 91; Cozad's Cora-Leigh Seaman, 93; and Gering's Kendall Thompson, 93.

McCook competes at the Holdrege Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday.
