Monday, September 22, 2008

Dr. Warren Jones will speak about volunteerism and the joy of giving Friday morning at the George W. Norris Foundation Prayer Breakfast.

This year's prayer breakfast will be at the Heritage Senior Center in McCook beginning at 7 a.m. Tickets for the Friday gathering, costing $10 each, are available at the McCook Chamber of Commerce, the George W. Norris Home or from Flora Lundberg or Leon Kuhlen of the Norris Foundation.

Dr. Jones, a dentist, is the president of the Norris Institute. He is a 1965 graduate of McCook High School.

Joining Dr. Jones on the Prayer Breakfast program will be The 4Hyms, a quartet, who will provide musical selections. Janet Weber, president of the McCook Area Chamber of Commerce, will serve as emcee and the Rev. Dr. Mary Hendricks of St. Alban's Episcopal Church will give the invocation.

Lundberg, president of the Norris Foundation board of directors, encouraged a large turnout for the Prayer Breakfast. "It is an opportunity to gather together to express appreciation for our many blessings as a community," she said.
