Emily Haarberg and Joel Sofia
Emily Marie Haarberg of Philadelphia, Pa., and Joel Bruce Sofia of Pitman, N.J., announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

Parents of the couple are Jim and Donna Hall of McCook, Jon and Reita Haarberg of North Platte and the Rev. Dr. Bruce and Sheryl Sofia of Sewell, N.J. Grandparents include Ardith Stute of Imperial, the late Frank Stute, Kathleen Haarberg of Dallas, Texas, the late Victor Haarberg, Stephen and Anita Farnelli Sr. of Williamstown, N.J., and John M. and Mary Sofia of Pitman.

The bride-to-be is a 1998 graduate of McCook High School, McCook Community College in 2000 and University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2003, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in mass communication. She is currently employed as a Disc Jockey for Q102 Radio Station in Philadelphia.

The prospective bridegroom graduated from Pitman High School in 1998, Rowan University in 1999, and is currently attending Seminary at Global University. He is presently in full-time ministry of the Pastoral Staff at the Gloucester County Community Church, Washington Township, N.J.

An Oct. 1, 2008 wedding is planned at the Bieroc Café in McCook. The Rev. Dr. J. Bruce Sofia will be officiating.
