MAYWOOD -- Austin G. Fischer died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 as a result of a car accident. He was 24.

He was born July 22, 1984. to Cindy S. (Boubin) and Jerry D. Fischer in North Platte. He graduated from Maywood High School in 2003 and Chadron State College in 2008, majoring in wildlife biology.

He spent time farming, hunting, fishing and gunsmithing, he was also an avid rifleman. He was planning to continue his education this coming year for his masters degree at Hayes, Kan. Austin graduated as salutatorian of his high school class, with many scholarships and numerous honors.

He was baptized into our loving Fathers hands in Clarkson, Neb., by the Rev. William Nottage Tacey. Growing up he loved spending time with his family hunting, fishing, and helping his father and grandfather working on the family farm.

He had a strong, kind and loving disposition which he shared with everyone he knew and met. He was deeply loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Boubin; great-grandparents, James and Ruth Fischer, Slim and Ester Drinkwalter, Joseph and Mary Boubin, and John and Florence Brandt; aunt, Jody Boubin; and a cousin, Brianna Boubin.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Cindy Fischer; brothers, Marshall Fischer and special friend, Hollie Hansen and Samuel Fischer; sisters, Emily Fischer and special friend, Steve and Anna Jo Fischer, all of Maywood; maternal grandmother, Barbara Boubin of Clarkson; and paternal grandparents, David and Delma Fischer of Maywood; special family friend, Brian Hahle of McCook; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Maywood School Gymnasium with Dale Heimer officiating. Burial will be in the Maywood Cemetery .

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook
