Zorn

NORTON, Kan. -- Norton Correctional Facility continues to explore all leads and information concerning the Sept. 16 escape of a minimum custody inmate, Christopher Zorn.

This morning, Wednesday, Sept. 17, a report was received that a white 1987 4-door Mercury Sable vehicle is missing from the Norton community. This may indicate Zorn is traveling in that vehicle.

Zorn was part of a work detail in the city of Norton, Kan., when he was discovered missing at approximately 11 a.m. Tuesday. Zorn is a 46-year-old Caucasian male, 5'11", 187 pounds with red/auburn hair and hazel eyes.

Zorn is serving a 130 month sentence for two counts of theft and one count of aggravated burglary from Sedgwick County. Zorn has previous convictions for burglary, theft and aggravated burglary from Sedgwick County, burglary from Lyon County, aggravated burglary from Linn County, burglary from Saline County and escape from Seward County.

Zorn was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

Zorn was classified as a minimum custody inmate at the time he escaped, but any inmate on escape status should be considered potentially dangerous. Anyone having any information about the current location of Christopher Zorn should call the Norton Correctional Facility at (785) 877-3389 or their local law enforcement authorities. Members of the public should not attempt to apprehend the individual.

Amazing!! A list of crimes a mile long, a prior escape, and they put him in "minimum custody". Our penal system is a joke!!

  • There is no such thing as minimun custody. They do the crime, they do the time. But like in our society today, people are getting lax in their work.

The people watching inmates in the "minimun custody" part of the penal system are being paid a good wage. Our tax dollars at work.

    Yeah, right.
