ATWOOD -- Mary Ann (Millan) Sramek, 58, died Wednesday (Aug. 20, 2008) in Atwood.
She was born in Bangor, Maine, on Dec. 25, 1949, to Elaine and Manuel Millan Jr. She attended Jefferson St. Grade School in Old Town, Maine. In 1963, the family moved to North Glenn, Colo., and then to Norton, Kan. in 1964, where her father had grown up. She graduated from Norton High School in 1968. She then attended Colby Community College for one year.
She married Ivan Sramek on Oct. 20, 1970, in Norton, Kan. They lived on a farm where she worked. She began working at Good Samaritan Center on Sept. 19, 1991, and was a cook for the Good Sam Kitchen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Ivan; six children, Christopher Ivan, Jolene Mary and husband, Karl Singhateh, Carey Joseph and wife, Jessica, Aaron Edward and wife, Lacy, Joseph Mathew and Jennifer Ann; sisters, Kathy Tomlin, Nancy Griffiths and Erin Atteberry; brothers, Peter and Clint Millan; step-mother, Beth Cummins Millan; 11 grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Saturday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in rural Atwood with the Rev. Daniel Scheetz officiating. Interment and graveside services will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Atwood.
Visitation is today from 1-4 p.m. and after 6 p.m., with a parish vigil and rosary services at 7 p.m., at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name and will be designated at a later date.
