CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Paul "Bud" Joseph Luebbers, 81, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008.

Born April 12, 1927, in Marienthal, Kan., he was the eldest son of John and Teresa (Werner) Luebbers.

Bud was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, American Legion Post 138, and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran, Artillery division. He served in Korea.

He is survived by his wife, Millicent; sons, Kent and his wife. Cynthia of Hastings, Neb., Neal and his wife, Donna, Brian and his wife, Cathy, all of Castle Rock, Colo.; grandchildren, Kerri Luebbers of Castle Rock, Kendra and John Moorhead of Grand Island, Neb., Paul Luebbers of Lincoln, Neb., John Luebbers, Christopher Luebbers, Jennifer Luebbers and Breanne Luebbers, all of Castle Rock; great-grandchild, Kailee Moorhead of Grand Island; sisters, Virginia Eder of Arriba, Colo., MaryAnn Wimmer of Flagler, Colo., and Janet and Jack Bancroft of Seibert, Colo.; and brother, Raymond "Tom" and Delores Luebbers of Platteville, Colo.

He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by brothers, John and Roch and sister, Bernetta Curvey.

Services were at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Castle Rock. A Mass and rosary were Friday, Aug. 8. A private inurnment was at Cedar Hills Cemetery in Castle Rock.

Memorials may be sent to the building fund of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or the Parkinson Society of Colorado.
