GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- Norman Keith died at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Grand Junction on Aug. 1, 2008, at the age of 78.

He was born Dec. 23, 1929, near Danbury, Neb., to Clarence and Anna (Farber) Keith. He was raised in Colorado and Danbury and graduated from Danbury School. Norman moved to Grand Junction in 1965, and worked as a mechanic and machine operator for the Grand Junction Drainage District until retirement in 1993.

He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Bonnie Patterson Aug. 4, 1990, and they loved to go fishing, camping, rock hunting and he loved to go four-wheeling and work in the garden.

Survivors include his wife Bonnie of the home; stepchildren, Tanja Powers of Clifton, Colo., Rocky Patterson of Evergreen. Colo., and Daleen Brown of Grand Junction; six sisters, Le Ardis Frerichs of Lexington, Neb., Noreen and husband, Glen Jumps and Delores and husband, Emery Kathka, all of McCook, Le Verna Petersen and Jackie Miller of Grand Island, Neb., and Anita Surber and husband, Edward Surber of Bainbridge, Ind.; brother Jimmy and wife, Jeannene Keith of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Howard Kenfield of Ogallala, Neb.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers, Richard and Delmar Keith; infant sister, Donna Rose; and sister, Glenva Kenfield of Ogallala in 2001; brothers-in-law, Johnnie Miller in 1988 and Elmer Frerichs in 2007; and a nephew, niece and great-nephew.

Norman was loved by many and brought joy and happiness to many.

Graveside services were at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens on Aug. 6, 2008.
