The Huskers donned full pad in temperatures that reached the upper 80's.
NU offensive line coach Barney Cotton said the Huskers were able to go through some live scrimmaging at the end of the practice.
Cotton weighed in on the NCAA's new 40-second play clock, part of an approach to shortening games.
On some plays, the 40-second clock will start on a signal from the referee at the end of a play. Previously, a 25-second clock started when officials marked the ball ready for play.
"There was a lot of hard work out there today," Cotton said. "We got a little live work in there at the end of practice…did some scrimmaging down in the red zone. We got a lot of good work done on film."
"You're goal offensively is to get up to the line of scrimmage with 15 seconds left anyway and I think that's probably what our goal is going to remain. They are just starting the clock sooner but the time is longer. Our goal will still be to get to the line of scrimmage with about 15 seconds left."
The Huskers will return to the practice field today to continue fall camp.
