ARAPAHOE -- Eltha H. Haussler, 96, formerly of Arapahoe, died Saturday (Aug. 9, 2008) at Fairbury.
She was born Dec. 17, 1911, in Gosper County to George and Emily (Linke) Debban. She grew up in Gosper County and attended Salem Lutheran Church and School south of Elwood.
She married August C.H. Haussler on Nov. 7, 1940, at Salem Lutheran Church. They farmed for many years north of Holbrook. In 1980, they moved into Arapahoe. Her husband died Feb. 25, 1991. She moved into Sunshine Village in Arapahoe and then to Fairbury.
She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and later transferred her membership to Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe.
She was preceded in death by her parent; husband, August; brothers, Simon, Herbert, Leonard, Herman. Gerald, and Berwin Debban; and sister, Esther.
Survivors include her sons Keith and wife, Carol Haussler of Fairbury; step-daughter, Laverne and husband, Rex Cook of Lincoln; brothers, Don and wife, Rosemary Debban of Elwood and Harold and wife Eileen Debban of Kearney; sisters-in-law, Eunice Debban of the state of Washington, Wilma and Nadeen Debban, both of Hastings and Lola Debban of Elwood; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. David Otten officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthews Cemetery at Arapahoe.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe and prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to the Shriner's Hospital.
