OBERLIN -- Geneva M. Morford, 91, died Saturday (Aug. 2, 2008) at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.
She was born Oct. 18, 1916, in Decatur County, Kan., to Harry and Mabel (Adamson) Counter. She grew up on the family farm southwest of Oberlin in Decatur County. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1935 and attended Kansas State University for one year.
On July 26, 1936, she married Lynn W. Morford in Oberlin. They lived on a farm southwest of Oberlin, where she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Church of Oberlin, Happy Homemakers Unit and Lioness Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mabel Counter; husband, Lynn Morford in 1995; son-in-law, Charles "Chuck" Collings and sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Gaylord Bryan.
Survivors include her sons, L.W. "Woody" and wife, Karla Morford of McCook and Gene and wife, Marsha Morford of Oberlin; daughter, Louise and husband, Stanley Blackburn of Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Judy Stricker officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her name.
