GARDEN CITY, Kan. -- Benjerman Scott Gaines, 4, died Saturday (July 26, 2008) at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kan.

He was born April 8, 2004, in Rolla, Mo., the son of David Allen Gaines II and Brenda Joy Decker. He had been a resident of Garden City since 2006 moving from Crocker, Mo.

He was preceded in death by an aunt, Robin Decker and uncle, Charles Schaefer.

Survivors include his father, David Allen Gaines II of Crocker; mother, Brenda Gaines and companion, Robert Coen Jr. of Garden City; brother, Robert Decker of the home; step-brother, Zayne Coen of Chadron; sisters, Paulanne Decker of Garden City and Sky Decker of the home; step-sister, Cheyann Coen of Chadron; grandparents, David Allen Gaines Sr. of Crocker, Mo., Charity and Jeff Strong of Mountain Home, Ark., Ronald and Barbara Decker of Garden City and Barbara Coen of Garden City; great-grandparents, Bruce Gaines of Crocker, Alma Gaines of Iberia, Mo.; Tom and Mary Waldrop of Flippin, Ark., and Harold and Sonja Decker of McCook; and great-great-grandfather, Joe W. Lee of Malden, Mo.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City with the Rev. Manford Koehn officiating.
