Thursday, July 31, 2008
(Photo)
Grant Strunk/McCook Daily Gazette Don Owens of McCook snagged this wiper at Hugh Butler Lake, north of McCook with a top water lure. Sid Doak, owner of the Lighthouse Marina, said white bass, wipers and some large northern pike are biting at Red Willow dam. Red Willow Lake has been cleared of all algae warnings. Doak also said the lake water is high, all ramps are usable and Nebraska Game and Parks has cleaned the beach for swimming.

Good looking fish, and fisherman!! He is my uncle-good to see him fishing.

By the way, what is a wiper? I have never heard of that kind of fish?

Best Regards,

Sharon Ingram
