OBERLIN -- June Saum, 92, died Friday (July 25, 2008), at Oberlin.
She was born Aug. 20, 1916, at Danbury, to Irvin and Bernice (Parker) Brown. She was raised in rural Danbury and attended Jolly Hills School and Decatur Community High School.
On July 20, 1939, she married Howard Saum in Guymon, Okla. They lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, Norton, Kan., and Oberlin.
She was a receptionist and a telephone operator.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1985; two brothers, Dean and Leslie; and a sister, Neva Page Campbell.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Brown of Danbury; a two nephews, Jack Brown of Danbury and Jim Brown of Holdrege; and two nieces, Mary Ann Erickson of Oberlin; and Sue Baird of Aurora, Colo.
Services will be Monday, 10 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Keith Reuther officiating. Burial will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, 3-8 p.m., and Monday 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorieal may be made to the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
