Following in the tradition of past MCT shows in McCook, (such as: "Robinson Crusoe," "The Little Mermaid," and "Robin Hood") the six-day long residency, will begin with open auditions Monday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. in the McCook Junior High Cafeteria. Approximately 50 available roles will be cast to interested local student actors for the MCT original musical production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."

Unlike most traveling childrens theaters, which are traditionally theater FOR kids, the Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions present theater WITH our area young people. A professional MCT tour director team is set to arrive in McCook, complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup, all they need are local student actors to complete their musical presentation in just five intense and fun-filled days.
MCT's production is, of course, an original adaptation of the classic fairy tale. A young princess named Snow White finds herself in peril when her step-mother, Queen Bella, is told by her Magic Mirror that the princess is fairer than she! Aided by her two Henchmen and a band of evil Bats, the Queen plots to get rid of Snow White.
Snow White escapes from Queen Bella and from the Black Forest Creatures with help from Witless the Woodsman, and finds a home with the Seven Dwarfs.
When Queen Bella learns of Snow White's whereabouts, she attempts to poison Snow White.
But, Queen Bella's evil plans are thwarted when Snow White's fearless Forest Friends, her father, King Backwards, the Seven Dwarfs and the Prince come to her rescue.
Monday's open auditions are for all interested students entering first grade through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is required and no prior musical and/or stage experience is necessary to audition. Those auditioning should arrive at 8:45 and plan on being present for the entire two-hour audition process.
Most students will rehearse approximately 41⁄2 hours each day, Monday through
Friday, as the MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day.
After a week of excitement and hard work, the local cast will present its musical production on Saturday Aug. 2nd at 3 and 7 p.m. at the McCook High School Auditorium.
