Bright, early-morning sunshine and mist from a firefighters' water line create a rainbow over the training burn of the former Fireside Inn Restaurant in eastern McCook Sunday. McCook and Red Willow Western firefighters protected nearby power lines and building materials as they burned the cedar shingle-covered roof and interior walls of the former restaurant constructed with cinder blocks. Dave and Lucy Lines of McCook plan to use the location of the Fireside, and the adjacent Red Horse Motel and Annex burned in a training exercise April 26 and 27, to build two structures for their drilling supply business, Morgan Mud.
