According to court documents, Lorimer allegedly reported a burglary of automotive tools, valued at $36,146, from his garage in Indianola in June 2007.
Law enforcement investigated the burglary and noted that there was no forced entry and other signs that the burglary could not have physically occurred, but due to lack of evidence the case did not move forward.
In March of this year, an anonymous phone call was received where the caller said no burglary had occurred and that Lorimer removed the tools himself to obtain the insurance money.
Law enforcement then took a statement from Lorimer's ex-girlfriend who admitted that the burglary didn't happen and that the tools were removed and taken to a friend in Holdrege.
The money from the insurance company was going to be used to make a down payment toward the purchase of a bar.

Sounds like something Al Sweringen in Deadwood would try to pull off.
