OBERLIN -- William Dean Polivka, 63, died Monday (July 7, 2008) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born Nov. 11, 1944, in Wahoo to Lod and Marie (Spicka) Polivka. He grew up in Wahoo, Camp Rule and Lakewood, Colo. He attended Jefferson School and graduated from Almeada High School in 1962.
On June 17, 1965, he married Carolyn Clapper. He worked as a lead man on the CO2 line at Coors. He lived in Lakewood, Colo., McDonald, Kan., and Oberlin.
He was a member of the St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lod and Marie Polivka.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Polivka of Oberlin; daughter, Melanie Day Polivka; brother, Donald Polivka and wife, Rhonda of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Bonnie Wiley and husband, Bill of McDonald, Kan.; and one granddaughter.
Services will be Thursday, 2:30 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Henry Saw Lone officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Thursday from 9 a.m., until time of service at the funeral home.
