CULBERTSON -- Gary Reuben Wacker, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at Springdale, Ark., at the age of 73.
He was born Jan. 9, 1935, in McCook, Neb., the son of the late Reuben and Dorothy (Foe) Wacker, He grew up at Culbertson, Neb., where he graduated from Culbertson High School in 1952.
Gary married Shirley Ann Fahrenbruch who preceded him in death, an infant daughter, Debra Dee Wacker died in 1954.
His early working life was in the Wacker grocery store in Culbertson before he began working for Ranchers Lumber and Supply in McCook until it closed. He then continued with Ranchers in Rogers, Ark., until they closed in the early 1990's. He retired in 1997.
Gary is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Neville of Lowell, Ark.; two sons, Timothy Wacker and wife, Odetta of Fremont, Neb., and Douglas Wacker of Elk Grove, Calif.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-children, Kevin Canty and wife, Diane of El Cajon, Calif., Kathy McClain and husband, Kelly of Chandler, Ariz., Rob Neville and wife, Jill of Phoenix, Ariz., and John Neville and wife, Gabby of Santa Cruz, Calif.; five step-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Wacker and wife, Peggy of Tucson, Ariz.; one nephew, Steven Wright; two nieces, Katherine and Elizabeth Wacker; and relatives and friends,
Memorial services were 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating, Inurnment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home during regular business hours.
