McCook High School senior-to-be Tyrone Sellers has committed.

On Monday, Sellers informed head coach Mark Mangino that he is committed to playing NCAA Division I football for the Kansas Jayhawks.

Sellers, 6-foot-4, 220-pound defensive end/tight end, garnered offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa and Wyoming and was also being recruited by Stanford, Nebraska, Illinois, Purdue, Connecticut and Texas Christian to name a few.

"After attending several camps and looking into many different schools Tyrone felt that Kansas was a perfect fit," said McCook High School football coach Jeff Gross.

"Academically and athletically they had everything he is looking for. Coach Mangino has built the program on hard work and great values and these were a huge selling point.

"Joining the 2008 Orange Bowl champions is a tremendous opportunity that Tyrone will accept with his full attention."
