Carland, Doherty engagement

April Amanda Carland of North Platte and Rodney Eugene Doherty of Wakeeney, Kan., announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Frank and Sandi Carland of North Platte, Katie Jefferson of O'Neill, Kenneth Doherty of Texas and the late Charlene Doherty.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of North Platte High School and is employed with AmFirst Bank in McCook, in the Operations Department

The prospective bridegroom is a Wyoming graduate. He is employed as a Tool Pusher with WW Drilling out of WaKeeney, Kan. A Sept. 13, 2008, ceremony is planned at Royal Colonial Inn in North Platte.
