McCook Rebels 14 and under squad splits NP games

NORTH PLATTE -- The McCook Rebels 14 and under girls fastpitch softball team went 1-1 at North Platte Tuesday.

McCook Rebels lost to the North Platte Sensations 3-2. Jenna Smith pitched and posted nine strikeouts.

Top hitters were Megan Rokusek with a triple, Marisa Esch had a double, Smith and Kaylee Samway had two singles and an RBI and Megan Ruppert and Rachel Leitner each had a single.

The second game was against the North Platte Belles. McCook won 4-3. Samway pitched and posted five strikeouts.

Top hitters were Ruppert with a triple, single and two RBIs, Madison Chitwood and Esch each with two singles, Brittany Broomfield with a single and an RBI and Rokusek and Smith each with a single.

The next action for the Rebels 14 and under team is tonight at home against the Gothenburg Angels at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
