Rebels Black 16 squad third at Kearney Klassic

KEARNEY -- The McCook Rebels Black 16 and under fastpitch softball team went 1-1 in pool play Saturday in Hastings beating the North Platte Belles 2-1. Then losing to the Kearney Hogans 11-0.

McCook Rebels 2,

North Platte Belles 1

Gretchen Sehnert and Amberette Burkey each singled.

Kelsey Gillen hit two singles and a RBI and Taylor Matson had a single, double and RBI.

Gillen pitched, allowing four hits, five strikeouts and one walk.

Kearney Hogans 11,

McCook Rebels 0

Amanda Einspahr and Brittini Bieker both singled.

Bieker pitched, allowing nine hits, five strikeouts and no walks.

On Sunday the Rebels went 2-1 facing the Hastings Shockers, beating them 12-2, then D'Milaco defeated the Rebels 4-0.

In the third-place game, the Rebels defeated Kearney Hogans 7-4.

Rachel Bradley singled, Burkey singled and had an RBI and Kim Holthus singled and had two RBIs. Erin Premer had 2 singles, Matson had two singles and a RBI.

Meagan Carfield and Jaci Saalfeld each had two singles and two RBIs.

Sehnert and Einspahr each had three singles. Gillen doubled and had a RBI and Bieker doubled with two RBIs.

Gillen pitched, allowing two hits, four strikeouts and one hit batter.

Kearney D'Milaco 4,

McCook Rebels 0

Carfield and Einspahr each singled and Premer doubled.

Bieker pitched, allowing four hits, five strikeouts, three walks and one hit batter.

Kearney Hogans 4

Carfield, Einspahr and Burkey each singled. Matson had two singles and Gillen doubled with one RBI.

Premer had two singles, one double and three RBIs. Bieker had a single, double and two RBIs.

Gillen pitched, allowing seven hits, five strikeouts and one walk.

The Rebels travel to North Platte tonight for league play and returns to Hastings this weekend for a tournament.

McCook plays Kearney D'Milaco at 5 p.m. and Diamond Dawgs at 8 p.m.

Saturday, McCook plays Bennington at 8:30 p.m.
