NORCATUR, Kan. -- Lora Linn Leichliter, 71, died Saturday (May 31, 2008) in Denver, Colo.
She was born May 5, 1937, in Norcatur, Kan., to K.G. and Irma Jaquetta (Railsback) Ward. She grew up in Norcatur and attended Norcatur grade school and high school.
On Nov. 25, 1956, she married Lyman Leichliter in Norcatur. They lived in New Orleans, La., and Denver, Colo., before returning to Norcatur. She worked as a bank teller.
She was a member of Norcatur United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Business and Professional Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents, K.G. and Jaquette Ward; husband, Lyman in 1994; infant daughter, Roberta; and brother, Doug Ward.
Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Ward of Norcatur; sons, Rodney Leichliter and wife, Lisa of Siebert, Colo., and Ronald Leichliter of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Lila and husband, Bryan Freshment of Kennewick, Wash.; brother, Mark and wife, Debbie Ward of Hugo, Colo.; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Norcatur United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Gilstrap officiating. Interment will be in the Norcatur Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and Wednesday from 8 a.m., until time of service at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Norcatur Citizens Alliance.
