She was born in Hazard, Kent., to Norman B. and Arty Ruth (Burrell) Hill. The family moved to Michigan in 1952, where Theada attended school and graduated from Ortonville High School. She moved to California and attended Deanza College.
Theada was employed as an electrical inspector in the computer industry in the Silicon Valley in California. Theada also had lived in Colorado prior to moving to Cambridge to be with her life partner of 32 years Delores Measel and her family.
Theada was excellent seamstress, sewing anything and every thing she needed from clothing to curtains. Avid Colorado Avalanche Hockey fan, goalie Patrick Way was her favorite player.
She was into meditation as an enlightening and health sustaining form. She enjoyed her grand children and was a special "nana" to them.
Theada was preceded in death by her father and a sister Shirley Jean.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Hill of Wyandotte, Mich.; her life partner, Delores Measel; her special family, Kristal Waters and her children, Justin and Kamiell; one sister, Lora Hill of Detroit, Mich.: seven brothers, Terry and wife, Linda Hill Of Augusta, Kan., Frank and wife, Ann of Michigan, Granville and wife, Bernadette of Grandblank, Mich., Ronald and wife, Debbie of St. George, Utah, Johnny and wife, Joan of Deerborne, Mich., Joey of Detroit, Mich., and Bernie of Detroit, Mich.;God-children, Bonnie Gonzales and Russell Aderhold of Merced, Calif.
A gathering will be at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge on Thursday, at 6 p.m. Lynn Hodgins will speak on memories. Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Theada.
Memorials may be left in Theada's name to the American Cancer Society or Muscular Sclerosis Society.
