Lance Cpl. Scott Wesch of McCook holds his nephew, Landen Charles Sauvage, who was born Jan. 13, 2008 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, to Daniel and Marie Sauvage of McCook.

Landen weighed 8 pounds, 1.5 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. Grandparents are Pat and Sandy (Gerver) Wesch and Albert Hagemann, all of McCook and Verl Sauvage of Oberlin, Kan. Great-grandparents are Gene and Joan Gerver and Lloyd and Carmen Wesch, all of McCook. His great-great grandmother is Pauline Hageman of Culbertson.

Wesch graduated from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, Calif. Oct. 5, 2007, as private first class. He then went to Military Occupational Specialty school in Jacksonville, N.C. where he graduated March 3, 2008. He was promoted to lance corporal April 1, 2008. His parents are Pat and Sandy Wesch of McCook. Grandparents are Gene and Joan Gerver and Lloyd and Carmen Wesch, all of McCook.
