Carl E. Keller died Sunday May 4, 2008, at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 90 years old.

On Nov. 8, 1917, he was born in Trenton to Howard G. and Bertha G. (Riley) Keller. He lived in the Trenton Community most of his life and graduated from Trenton High School in 1934.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Tech Sergeant. Carl was the recipient of the Bronze Star and was a Silver Star nominee. He enjoyed wood working, working with several area newspapers.

He married Mary Jane Cole in Norton Kansas on July 27, 1942. They moved to Idaho in 1959, where he was a linotype operator for newspapers. They returned to Trenton in 1974.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bertha; his wife, Mary Jane in 2001; and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his children, Leon K. Keller and wife, Gin of Round Rock, Texas, William D. Keller and wife, Lana of Sidney, Charlene R. Keller of McCook, Marilyn K. Salter and husband, James of McMinnville, Ore., and Gail Kohn of McCook; two sisters, Eleanor Brown of Trenton and Evelyn Atwood of Englewood, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial graveside services will be Saturday, May 24, 2008, 11 a.m., at the Trenton Cemetery with Johnny Walker officiating. A military honor guard will be provided by the Trenton Veterans.
