Board member Tom Bredvick said developing lists of short- and long-range projects has benefited the schools in the past, determining "where's the biggest fire?" and addressing needs as priorities.

Junior high
* The junior high is heated with water and its system is in good shape and would be compatible with air conditioning, Messersmith said.
* Dull floor tiles need to be replaced, and sidewalk settling on the north is creating a trip hazard.
* The concession stand needs to be moved onto the stage, or the nurse's office (with running water and a restroom) moved elsewhere, as the two share the same room.
* The girls' locker room could be expanded into the unused shower area and the boys' locker room could be expanded into a storage area. Both need additional lockers to protect students' belongings.
Senior high
* The high school is heated with steam, and would require new ducting for air conditioning.
* Some electrical work and rerouting is needed in the commons area and locker rooms to prevent breakers from flipping.
* Dressing rooms in the auditorium/stage area could be remodeled into additional classroom space.
* Part of the loft area in the gym could be fenced off and locked for weight-lifting equipment storage, still allowing room for the band.
* It is recommended that the nurse's office and the athletic director's office be reversed, and a window added for visibility at the east-south doors.
* The parking lot on the former tennis courts needs to be resurfaced. Quotes estimate the cost at $40,000.
* Roof repairs are needed in the commons area and the auto technology classroom.
Both the junior and senior highs need new phone systems, with phones in each classroom. Messersmith said it possible that a COPS school safety grant could pay for a project like that.
Safety concerns regarding the bleachers in each building need to be addressed.
