ATWOOD -- Anthony "Tony" Joseph Ruda, 67, died Sunday (May 4, 2008).
He was born Oct. 1, 1940, to Anton J. and Marian Ruda. He attended Atwood Grade School and graduated from Atwood High School in 1958.
On Aug. 3, 1963, he married Marcia K. Most. He farmed alongside his father and brothers until 1985 when he went into partnership and opened the Atwood Repair Shop. He was involved in other ventures and worked at Hansen's Plumbing for the past five years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anton J. Ruda; and his wife of 38 years, Marcia.
Survivors include his mother, Marian Ruda of Atwood; two daughters, Robin and husband, Hisham Ahmed of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lori and husband, Red Curry of Atwood; a son, Chad Ruda of Surprise, Ariz.; sisters, Janice and husband Ferrell Shuck of Lee Summit, Mo., Betsy Whitaker of Ranchester, Wyo., Vicki and husband, Regan Koch of Rose Hill, Kan., and Carla and husband, Bill Focke of Albuquerque, N.M; brothers, Ken and wife, Shirley Ruda of Atwood, and David and wife, Pam Ruda of Lancaster, Ky.; two granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with the Rev. Galen Long officiating. Inurnment will be at the Atwood Fairview Cemetery in Atwood.
A vigil and Knights of Columbus rosary is tonight, 7 p.m., at the church.
Memorials may be addressed to RCHS Alumni Association or for a memorial to be established later.
There is no visitation. The family chose cremation.
