A possible tornado touches down Tuesday night, below what may be a funnel cloud in the upper right portion of the photo. The threatening clouds produced the eerie sight north of McCook around 7 p.m., traveling east across the northwestern part of Red Willow County for several minutes before disappearing. No damage had been reported to the sheriff's office early Wednesday morning. Officials planned to forward the photo to the National Weather Service for possible confirmation of a tornado. Another twister was reported five miles southwest of Maywood. Hail up to 6 inches in diameter was reported near Curtis, and up to golfball size was reported 16 miles southwest of Atwood and at Bird City, and hail up to an inch in diameter fell near Hayes Center, Trenton, Culbertson, Eustis, Holbrook and Beaver City.
