McCook's McKenna headed to nationals

Cindy Hays The Iowa Lakes Lakers women's softball team won the Region XI regionals in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The Lakers will play Thursday, May 15 in Normal, Ill. in the NJCAA National Tournament. McCook High graduate Michelle McKenna, middle row far left, is the starting catcher for the Iowa Lakers, who have a 50-11 record. McKenna takes a .305 batting average into the national tournament with 46 hits in 151 at bats. She has 15 doubles, one home run, 27 runs batted in and two stolen bases.
