Oberlin golfers place sixth at home tournament

OBERLIN -- Decatur Community High School golfers hosted the Oberlin Invitational Saturday.

"The tournament ran smoothly, thanks to the Oberlin CC, the course was in good shape," said Oberlin coach Dick Ahlberg.

Oberlin finished sixth in the tournament and Rawlins County was fourth.

Phillipsburg won in the team standings, Colby took second and Sharon Springs was third.

Jordan Tally took 10th in the individual standings for Oberlin. Tally ended the day 54-43-88.

"Jordan had a good day," said coach Ahlberg. "He was consistent."

Jacob Larue followed behind Tally with a total 52-47-99 and Chris Larson went 53-50-103. Nathan Simonsson finished the day with 57-57-114,

Josh Ritter had 70-52-122, Kenzie Fisher went 71-69-140 and Jaxen Alstrom had 74-76-150.

No Rawlins County individual scores were available.

Team scores -- Phillipsburg 328, Colby 342, Sharon Springs 387, Rawlins County 394, Tribune 398, Oberlin 404, Goodland 415.
