ARAPAHOE -- Fritz McCoy, 71, died Tuesday (April 15, 2008) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born Oct. 4, 1936, south of Arapahoe to Floyd and Mamie (King) Breinig.
She was baptized in the Christian faith at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe. She graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1953. After graduation she attended business school in Denver, Colo.
On April 15, 1956, she married Neal McCoy at First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe. They made their home in Arapahoe for all of their married life except for two early years in McCook. She worked for the Bureau of Reclamation at McCook for seven years.
She attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney and graduated in 1970 with a teaching degree. She taught at Oxford High School in Oxford for seven years. She later became manager of the K-Store in Arapahoe.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jane McCoy; infant son, Michael and brother, Charles Breinig.
Survivors include her husband, Neal McCoy of Arapahoe; son, John and wife, Nancy McCoy of Kearney; daughter, Julie Ambielli of Califon, N.J.; sister, Lu and husband, Chuck Six of Arapahoe; brothers, Duane and Victor Breinig, both of Arapahoe and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. David Otten officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., at the Wenburg Funeral Home.
