IMPERIAL -- Lula Belle Williams, 91, died Monday (April 7, 2008), at Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial.

She was born on June 1, 1916, on her father's homestead near Lamont, in northwest Dundy County, to Hiram A. and Fannie L. (Turner) Davis. She attended the Broad Valley School District No. 59 through the eighth grade and attended Sunday school in Lamont.

She married Royce Oren Williams on Oct. 13, 1936, in Wray, Colo., and the couple settled on the Williams' homestead in northwest Dundy County. In 1969, after the death of Royce's father, they purchased the ranch, and made it their home until her husband's death in 1998. She continued to live on the ranch and in 2006, celebrated 100 years of Williams's ownership.

She received The Homestead Plaque from Dundy County, in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Royce; son, Eugene; and great-grandson, Matthew Williams.

Survivors include her sons, Rex Williams and wife, Kay of Haigler and Max Williams and wife, Pauline of Topeka, Kan.; daughters, Evelyn Bronzynski and husband, Don of Norfolk, Shirley Corrons and husband, Jim of Truth or Consequences, N.M., Sharon Statz and husband, Bud of Champion, Carolyn Morrison and husband, Randy of Pierce, Colo., and Marilyn Ellis and husband, Duane of Tyrone, Ga.; sister-in-law, Marjorie Williams of Aurora, Colo.; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends

Funeral services will be Saturday, 3 p.m., at First United Methodist Church in Imperial with the Revs. Kay Alnor and Frances Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Crete Cemetery in Champion.

Visitation will be Friday 2-6 p.m., at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial.

Memorials may be given in her name.
