OBERLIN -- Berenece F. McKay, 96, died Thursday (April 3, 2008) at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.
She was born Feb. 10, 1912, to Noah and Martha Fortin in Dresden, Kan. She grew up on a farm near Dresden and graduated from Dresden High School in 1931.
On July 24, 1932, she married Tommy McKay. They lived on a farm in Prairie Dog township south of Oberlin. They later moved to Oberlin. She worked as a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Oberlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Martha Fortin and husband, Tommy.
Survivors include the Fortin and McKay nephews and nieces.
Services will be Monday, 10 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, with the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 p.m., and Monday 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in her name.
