Records tumble at DCSHS Invitational

BENKELMAN -- Blair Dixon of Wauneta-Palisade and Layne McConville of Southwest rewrote the record books at the Dundy County-Stratton Invitational Track and Field meet Tuesday in Benkelman.

Dixon topped the charts in the 400 meter dash with a new time of 1:00.20.

The 400 meter record was held by Dixon's coach Dawn (Applegarth) Doetker, who set the record in 1996 at 1:00.40.

Dixon also won the 100 meter dash in 13.20, 200 meter dash in 27.40 and the 100 meter hurdles in 16.30.

McConville broke the 800 meter run record with a time of 2:28.50. Brooke Koester of Maywood also competed in the event, set the record in 2006 with a time of 2:29.40.

McConville picked up her second win of the meet in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:45.00.

Lisa Lord of Southwest brought home two golds, in the long jump with a leap of 16-04.50 and the triple jump at 35-01.50.

Kadee Arensdorf of Maywood won the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:38.60.

Dundy County-Stratton hurdler Brooke Hansen won the 300 meter hurdles in 49.80.

Frankie Petersen of Cambridge won the high jump, clearing the bar at 4-10.00.

Hitchcock County Falcon Ashley Garner won the pole vault at 7-06.00.

Shot thrower Kallie Welch of Medicine Valley won with a throw of 35-10.75.

Cambridge Trojan Shelby Schultz tossed the discus 116-02 to pick up the win.

Hayes Center Cardinal Brian Christner was a double winner picking up the 100 meter dash in 11.40 and the 200 meter dash in 23.70.

Kyle Glidden of Dundy County-Stratton won the throwing events, the shot put with a throw of 47-10.75 and the discus with a toss of 150-09.

Ted Crabtree of St. Francis picked up wins in the pole vault at 12-6 and the long jump at 19-07.

Wauneta-Palisade's Taylor Dixon won the 400 meter dash in 52.00.

Drew Cramer of Cambridge ran a 2:07.10 to win the 800 meter run.

Miler Hayden Ekberg, of Cambridge won the 1600 meter run in 4:49.20.

Jared Shillington of Dundy County-Stratton ran the 3200 meter run in a time of 10:46.70 for first place.

Hurdler Lance Shifflet of Cambridge won the 300 meter hurdles in 42.10.

Trent Kinen of St. Francis won the 110 meter hurdles with a time 15.90.

Hitchcock County Falcon Austin Renfro won the high jump clearing the bar at 5-10.

Luke Clifford of Hayes Center won the triple jump at 40-09.25.
