FREMONT -- Wilma Lois Bieck, 91, died Saturday (March 29, 2008) at Pathfinder House in Fremont.
She was born Aug. 4, 1916, to Harold and Elsie (Shields) Stewart in Garnett, Kan. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Garnett High School. She pursued a teaching career and began teaching in a small country school near Garnett. She later attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska. She accepted a teaching position in Harvard. She also taught in Trumbull and Inland school systems.
On Dec. 28, 1943, she married Kenneth G. Bieck in Garnett. They lived on the family farm northeast of Harvard until 1990, when they moved into Harvard.
She was a member of Harvard United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth in 1995, her parents and a brother, Claron.
Survivors include her children, Connie Krull and husband, Gayle of Fremont, Marilyn Bieck of Encinitas, Calif., William Bieck and wife, Sharla of McCook; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Harvard United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dale Coates officiating. Interment will be at Harvard Cemetery.
