Dwayne R. Dickinson, 34, of Oberlin, was killed when Ashley Anne Coronado, 16, also of Oberlin, lost control of the SUV she was driving westbound on a graveled county road six miles south of Oberlin on Highway 83 and 2.7 miles east on Road 6S. According to a report by Kansas Highway Patrol troopers, Coronado lost control in the gravel and the SUV entered the north ditch and overturned. All but one of the five occupants was thrown out; no one was wearing a seat belt, the KHP report indicates.

To Jewells67...you wondered what other people were thinking...I am gonna tell you what I was thinking...That Poor Girl. I hope that she can get through this...As an adult we can understand that accidents happen but how can such a young girl do this? Then I prayed she had the strength to know that sometimes bad things happen to good people. That it was an accident and it was God's way of calling him home. I pray that this accident can be a wake up call for others knowing that God will call us home when he is ready and not necessarily when we are ready...knowing this we all need to tell the ones that we love and care about each day we are glad they are in our lives...because God forbid maybe one day may be one day too late. My prayers go out to the families .
I wanted to respond to the person named jewells67, Your ignorance is appalling!!! Someone they loved just died in a horrible accident, you made terrible assumptions and then write back and call them nuts? You're the nutjob get a life!! Do yourself a favor stop posting these comments.
Cammi--I've known your brother in law for over half my life now and I agree--he's one of the most amazing people I've known and I'm so sorry his life was cut short. I hope you and the rest of the family are staying strong. As for his wife and daughter...its such a shame they couldnt have had more time with him and I hope they'll be ok.
Chris
Are you people nuts? All I asked for was more information! I never made accusations of anything other than poor reporting and not giving details that were important to the readers. How many other readers out there do you think wondered the same thing I did? Not everyone who read this story knew the families involved! Re-read my comment! What was I saying in it that was offensive? All I wanted was the complete story. Get over it!
To: crs, tmf, czd, and TLS - thank you for your support in this family's time of sorrow.
To: jewells67 - shame on you, terrible, terrible shame...
Perhaps they are not star's but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost one's pours through and shine's down upon us to let us know they are happy.
I think that the paper should get their facts straight before they print it. I guess though facts aren't as important as sensationalizing. In regards to Jewel67's comment, Dwayne was an incredible man who loved his wife and daughter. He was the kind of guy that would have given the shirt off of his back for anyone, even a stranger. Everyone that loved him is hurting right now and it was ignorant and malicious for you to make a comment like that. If you want to read articles that contain the kind of information and dramatization that you are seeking maybe you ought to stick to the National Enquirer.
Cammi Dickinson
I'm not sure that its anyones business if she was related to any of these guys or not,but to ease some strangers mind...yes her step-father was the one who was killed and the other young men were his friends. This young girl is going to have to live with this horrible tradgey for the rest of her life. The last thing she needs is people like you making pre-judgements abut something you know absolutely NOTHING about to compound the situation. Our hearts and prayers go out the young people and their families. May God keep them all in the palm of his hand.
I dont know where you get off trying to make this accident seem like it was more than it was. Its hard enough for all the family members to deal with this tragedy without someone trying to make accusations.
My heart goes out to Dwayne's wife and family during all this.
The parties, injured or deceased, WERE all related. it was an accident.
This is a sad story...but I feel there is more to it. What was this 16 year old girl doing with these men out on a country road in the first place? Were they related in any way? Did she possibly lose control on purpose because of something that was going? More information would be nice.
