FRANKLIN -- Margaret Heskett, 84, died Sunday (March 2, 2008), at Franklin County Hospital.
She was born Aug. 24, 1923, on a farm northwest of McCook to Jacob and Nellie (Spurgeon) Schilz. She attended county school.
She married Al Heskett on Aug. 29, 1944, at Immaculate Conception Church in Westerly, R.I., where he was stationed in the Navy. They returned to the McCook area and lived on the Heskett family farm northwest of McCook.
In 1968, the family moved to Imperial, where she worked at the Imperial Republican and later as Activities Director at the Imperial Manor.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Imperial and the Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; infant daughter, Janice; son, Kirk; brothers, Leo, Bernard and Gene; and a sister, Florence.
Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn Iverson of Imperial and Vivian Brown and husband, Jerry of Lexington, Nancy Terryberry and husband, Tom of Imperial, Lois Silvester and husband, Kim of Champion and Carla Colton and husband, Charles of Imperial; sons, Douglas and wife, Julie of Omaha, Ernest and wife, Vicky of Imperial and Craig and wife, Debora of York; sister, Marie Hampton of California; brothers, William Schilz of McCook and Rich Schilz of Arvada, Colo.; sister-in-law, Wilma Schilz of Ogallala; 34 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, 10 a.m. (MT) at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imperial with the Rev. Bernard Lopez officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 6 p.m., (MT) at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial. Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. (MT) at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name.
